Steadfast Hope: A Christian-Jewish Exploration of the Struggle for a Just Peace in Israel-Palestine
The Tikkun Olam Chavurah and Germantown Mennonite Church in partnership with Christian-Jewish Allies of Greater Philadelphia announces a 7-week course on the history and current realities in Israel-Palestine.
The course uses a comprehensive general curriculum titled Steadfast Hope created by the Israel-Palestine Mission Network of the Presbyterian Church. Supplementary materials are provided to insure the course is user-friendly to secular people as well as people of all faiths.
Steadfast Hope is a social justice curriculum based on a framework of human rights and international law as the basis of justice for Israelis and Palestinians. The course illuminates the Palestinian narrative so often missing from US discourse.
A collaborative team of Christian and Jewish adult educators, all members of Christian-Jewish Allies with significant prior experience teaching this course, will teach each session.
The course will run from Wednesday, October 7th through Wednesday, November 18th from 7:00 to 8:30 PM, and take place at Germantown Mennonite Church, 21 W. Washington Lane, Philadelphia, PA 19144-2601.
